The beginning of a new series on the fundamentals of the faith listed in Hebrews 6: Repentance, Faith, Baptism, Laying on of Hands, Resurrection, Judgement. The first lesson is on both the importance of mastering the fundamentals and on the first fundamental of the faith: Repentance from Dead Works.
Hebrews 6:1-3
"Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so."
Psalms 51:10-15
"Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise."
