Opportunities
OUR MISSION
This ministry strives to reach lost teens that are incarcerated inside our county Juvenile Detention Center. The JDC Ministry has been in existence at North Blvd for 30+ years. Through this ministry, we have spread God’s word to thousands of young men and women who have made bad choices, but are willing and ready to make a change! Detainees at JDC come from all over Tennessee. Many of the kids come from broken homes and feel like they have nowhere else to turn. They fall victim to bad influences and, in return, make bad decisions that lead them to the detention center.
WHAT WE DO
Our goal in The JDC Ministry is to spread seeds — seeds of Hope, seeds of God’s Love, and seeds that will help them move past prior worldly decisions. Our aim is to help them see that there is a much better path for their lives; God’s path!
We spread this message through weekly Saturday devotionals, which consist of sharing a 1-hour message about Christ, prayer, and providing reading recommendations from Scripture and other biblical books that they can read in their cells. Most importantly, we listen to the detainees, meeting them on their level.
Many of the teens and pre-teens already have a Godly foundation and a love for Jesus. We try to simply remind them that God loves them so much that He sent His only begotten Son down to this Earth just for them! We stress that not one bad decision, whether big or small, can ever detour God’s love for them.
With church funding, we are able to provide each boy and girl with their very own Bible that they can take home when released. We want to thank each and every church member for your continued support!
