CAMPING GEAR
The hike will not be far to the campsite. Use a pack or a cart, whatever you want to get to the site. You will need:
Bible
tent
sleeping bag & sleeping pad
headlamp/ flashlights
camp chairs
cup/mug/bottle to drink out of
plates and utensils
earplugs
trash bags
CLOTHES
Two main ideas: keep yourself dry, and dress in layers. It’s Tennessee- so this might change right before the trip weather-wise, so plan accordingly!
jeans and shorts
t-shirts
jacket for night
rain layer
extra socks
boots/shoes for hiking in the woods
tennis shoes for sports & recreation
FOOD
We’ll supply lunch on Saturday, as well as water. Beyond that, you’ll need to bring your own food for dinner Friday, Saturday breakfast and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. Bring food that can be stored without refrigeration, and that doesn’t need a whole lot of prep time (unless you’re a campfire gourmet). For example:
meat jerky
fruit (apples, oranges, or bananas)
Clif-Bars, protein bars, granola bars
cheese and crackers
RECREATION GEAR
These days are meant for you to unplug and re-connect!
footballs
frisbees
fishing poles for the pond
hammocks
sketch pads
anything fun that you can think of that you would like to do. Especially with your son(s)!
