David Young  //  Senior Minister

David Young grew up in the churches of Christ in Middle Tennessee, where he began preaching at the age of 16. He currently serves as the Senior Minister for the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has worked for churches in Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee, taught New Testament at several colleges, and travelled widely teaching and preaching, leading mission trips and hosting tours to the Holy Lands and to other religious sites.

He has published chapters in several books, has circulated numerous papers, and has published several books, including Alive in the Spirit: A Biblical Theology of the Holy Spirit, Extreme Discipleship: Following Jesus from the Gospel of Mark, and NEW DAY: Restoring the Revolutionary Mission of Christ’s Church.

He holds the B.A. from Freed-Hardeman University, the M.A. from Harding University Graduate School of Religion, and the M.A. and Ph.D. in New Testament from Vanderbilt University.

Mechelle Alexander  //  Children's Ministry Administrative Assistant & Sonshine School Director

Mechelle Alexander graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Office Management. She has served as the Children’s Ministry Administrative Assistant to Amy Sain for ten years, and as the director of Sonshine School since 2015. She and her husband, Danny, have two children.

Ben Beavers  //  Church Planter Apprentice

Ben Beavers has a passion for helping young people become more like Jesus Christ. He is committed to investing in the lives of university students and other young people to help them grow spiritually. This passion has been shared with his wife Katherine since they met at a youth church camp. Among other things, Ben has successfully ended a long-term relationship with a flip phone, survived a rattle snake bite, and drinks his coffee black.

Blake Boggs  //  Associate Youth Minister

Blake is a graduate of Harding University with a degree in Bible and Family Ministry who joined our staff in 2019. He is originally from Dallas, Georgia, which is just outside of Atlanta where Blake grew up attending Braves and Georgia football games. He fondly remembers growing up having dinner with his family and through sharing these meals together he realized the importance of stories both in telling and listening to them and how God uses stories to further His kingdom. Blake’s desire is to be a hole in a house to students like in Luke 5 by helping them get a glimpse of the Redeemer.

Shawn Frazier

Shawn Frazier  //  Worship Minister

Shawn Frazier is a grateful believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He met his wife, Katie Frazier, at Harding University where he received his Bachelor of Music Education degree. Shawn and Katie taught music at Middle Tennessee Christian School for eight years while earning Master of Arts degrees at Middle Tennessee State University. Shawn is thrilled to now work for North Boulevard while Katie teaches private oboe lessons. Their dog, Ginger Snap, enjoys outdoor and indoor sprinting.

Scott Haley  //  Church Administrator

Before coming to North Boulevard, Scott worked as an accountant in the construction industry for 24 years. Scott has also served as a deacon, treasurer, and co-minister of the youth program in churches of Christ prior to serving at North Boulevard. Scott and his wife Donna have two children, Jacob and Rachel.

Ray Holland  //  Executive Minister

Before retiring in 2012, Ray served 40 years as an executive for city governments throughout Ohio and California. When he and his wife Carol learned about North Boulevard’s 2020 Vision, they moved to Murfreesboro to be part of the great world-wide spiritual awakening.

Tony Holt

Tony Holt  //  Minister of Church Life / Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader

Tony has been married to his wife Debra for 30 years, and they have one daughter, Katlyn, 28. He has 26 years of ministry experience, and has served as Minister of Church Life with North Boulevard since July 2012. Tony graduated from Heritage Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in Bible 1985, and David Lipscomb University with a Masters in Religion 1998.

Tony is uncontrollably relational and loves people. He enjoys sports, hanging out with family and friends, and is passionate about relational discipleship.

David Hunzicker  //  West Murfreesboro Campus Minister

As a child David Hunzicker spent his evenings shooting basketball and swinging in the backyard. It was in those moments where David would often connect with God, pray and sing God’s praises. Since David has experienced the love of God in his life, he is passionate about helping other people discover God for themselves. He earned university degrees in education and in ministry which have equipped him to serve as a youth and family minister and then as a high school Bible teacher. David is now the campus minster at North Boulevard’s West Murfreesboro Campus. He enjoys eating apple pie with his high school sweetheart Kristin, wrestling with his two boys Braxton and Judah, and dancing with his daughter Anna Marie.

Nathan Jernigan  //  Counseling Minister

Nathan Jernigan has served as Counseling Minister at North Boulevard for 25 years. He and his wife, Jeannie, have two children, Caleb and Michaela. He feels blessed to do a job every day that he loves and feels God has called him to do.

Nathan holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. He completed an internship with Gayle Napier, PH.D., a licensed marriage and family therapist, as well as two additional post-master’s internships. He holds two professional practice licenses from the State of Tennessee Health Related boards, is a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner and Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider, and is a National Certified Counselor.

Nathan provides a wide range of services including individual psychotherapy, counseling, premarital counseling, marital therapy, family therapy and psychological testing. Privacy and confidentiality are taken very seriously. For this reason the counseling ministry office is located off site not near any of the North Boulevard campuses.

John Magnuson  //  Executive Projects Minister

John Magnuson grew up in Murfreesboro, and has been with North Boulevard since 2007. He served as Worship Minister until 2015, when he assumed the role of Executive Minister. He is a graduate of Riverdale High School, Lipscomb University, Pepperdine University, and the Robert E. Webber Institute of Worship Studies. He and his wife April have two grown children and a cool little grandson named Slade.

Russell Rigsby

Russell Rigsby  //  West Campus Associate Minister

Russell was born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN. It is here where he committed his life to Jesus and was baptized, found the love of his life, Abby, and gained a passion for training and competing in triathlons. He was introduced to Christ through his close friend and current North Boulevard West campus minister, David Hunzicker. Russell has a M.A. in Ministry from Hope International University and is currently pursuing his M.Div. He has served at the Smyrna-Lavergne campus, MT316 campus, and now serves at the West campus.

Glenn Robb  //  Church Planting Coordinator

Glenn Robb grew up in the rural community of Greenhill, Alabama. It was near the Tennessee River where he learned to swim, ski and fish. Glenn grew up listening to preachers talk about Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead to prove he was the son of God. At age twelve Glenn made a commitment to follow Jesus and was baptized. A sense of purpose and confidence set a new direction for his life. He and his wife Nancy have served as church planting missionaries to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Atlanta, Georgia, and now Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Joe Roberts  //  Discipleship Minister

Joe is presently the Discipleship/Small Group minister for the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro Tennessee having served in ministry since 1979 and is also the Director for the School of Professional Studies at Tennessee Tech University. He is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and has three graduate degrees along with a doctorate from Florida Atlantic University in leadership. He has served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear engineer, as the Director of the Spiritual Growth Workshop, now the Equip Conference in Orlando, Florida, Co-Director of Blue Ridge Family Encampment in North Carolina and on various boards such as the American Red Cross and Advisory Board of Freed-Hardeman University.

He and his wife Judy have been married since June of 1981 and have two grown children, Chad and Amy. Judy works in human resources for Tennessee Tech University. Chad and Amy are graduates of Lipscomb University. Chad works and lives in Nashville TN. Amy is married to Reid Hillin and they have a son, Henry. They make their home in Antioch TN.

Amy Sain

Amy Sain  //  Children's Minister

Amy Sain has served as North Boulevard’s Children’s Minister for 11 years. She and her husband Robert have three daughters.

Amy loves leading the children and families in the Boulevard Kids ministry. Her greatest joy is when she sees the children age through the program as they grow strong in their walk with Christ and dedicate their lives to Him through baptism. She loves meeting new families, planning great events, and writing Bible lessons.

In her spare time, she loves to spend time and play games with her family, eat at new restaurants, travel, and work on her golf game with her kids!

Justin Sims  //  Smyrna-LaVergne Campus Minister

Justin serves as an associate minister with the Smyrna-LaVergne campus, just a mile from where he grew up. At a young age, Justin found joy and purpose in Jesus and sensed early on that God was guiding him towards service in His kingdom, both at home and around the world. Justin graduated from Harding University (B.A. Spanish and Bible, 2013) and Harding School of Theology (M.Div., 2018), and has previously lived and ministered in Memphis, Tennessee, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Justin actualmente sirve como ministro del campus en Smyrna-LaVergne, a menos de una milla del lugar donde se crió y pasó la mayor parte de su infancia. Desde una edad temprana, Justin encontró gozo y propósito para su vida en Jesús y luego empezó a sentir que Dios estaba guiando su vida hacia el servicio en su reino, tanto en su ciudad natal como en otras partes del mundo. David Skidmore

David Skidmore  //  Youth Minister

David has served as the Youth Minister of North Boulevard since 2001. He and his wife Melissa are raising three teenagers of their own — Daisy, Anna Belle, and Lila Mae. David’s mission is to serve as a “sycamore tree” to the teenagers of the nbyg, lifting them above the distractions of the crowd so they might see the approaching Savior more clearly.

Milton Stanley

Milton Stanley  //  Smyrna-LaVergne Campus Minister

Milton Stanley is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition. Before joining the North Boulevard staff in 2015 as a Church Planter apprentice, preparing to help launch the Smyrna-LaVergne campus, he spent two years volunteering on the launch team of North Boulevard’s West campus.

He enjoys spending time reading, memorizing Scripture, and spending time with his wife Shelly and their three daughters — Evangeline, Joy, and Gloria.

Michael Strickland  //  Teaching Minister

Michael is a native Alabamian, graduate of Auburn University (BA, MEd, War Eagle!) and the University of Birmingham (PhD). He has worked in ministry in Alabama and Tennessee, and is currently Associate Dean of the Turner School of Theology at Amridge University where he teaches courses related to Theology, Christian History and Math. He and Mary have been happily married for 18 years and they have 3 children, and they all love North Boulevard. Michael is an avid alchemist and aspiring philanthropist.

Michael often teaches the East Campus Auditorium Class on Sunday mornings.

Jorge Suárez  //  Latino Minister

Jorge fue bautizado el 6 de Febreo 1978. Graduado del Instituto Baxter con un título de Bachiller en Biblia en 1984. Ha sido ministro en la Iglesia de Cristo por más de 30 años en tres diferentes paises: Honduras, Colombia y los Estados Unidos. Ahora sirve a los hermanos y hermanas hispanohablantes de North Boulevard, ministrando a la comunidad latina en todo el condado de Rutherford y más allá. Él y su esposa Luz Marina tienen un hijo y una nieta. Su mission es hacer discípulos que hagan discípulos.

Jorge was baptized on February 6, 1978. He graduated from the Baxter Institute with a Bachelor´s degree in Bible in 1984. He has been minister for over 30 years in three different countries: Honduras, Colombia, and the United States. He now serves North Boulevard’s Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters, ministering to the Latino community throughout Rutherford County and beyond. He and his wife Luz Marina have a son and a granddaughter. His mission is to make disciples who make disciples.

Edet Udofia

Edet Udofia  //  Inner City & Prison Ministry

Edet Udofia developed a love for Christ from his parents who were pioneer church planters in southern Nigeria. After teaching in African Christian College, Edet immigrated to the United States to pursue higher education in medical technologies and healthcare administration. A passion for bringing hope to underprivileged citizens through the power of Christ led him to plant a local church that positively transforms the physical and spiritual destiny of thousands. Edet and his wife Alice, along with their six children, seek to honor Christ wherever they are.
