David Young  //  Senior Minister

David Young grew up in the churches of Christ in Middle Tennessee, where he began preaching at the age of 16. He currently serves as the Senior Minister for the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has worked for churches in Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee, taught New Testament at several colleges, and travelled widely teaching and preaching, leading mission trips and hosting tours to the Holy Lands and to other religious sites.

He has published chapters in several books, has circulated numerous papers, and has published several books, including Alive in the Spirit: A Biblical Theology of the Holy Spirit, Extreme Discipleship: Following Jesus from the Gospel of Mark, and NEW DAY: Restoring the Revolutionary Mission of Christ’s Church.

He holds the B.A. from Freed-Hardeman University, the M.A. from Harding University Graduate School of Religion, and the M.A. and Ph.D. in New Testament from Vanderbilt University.

Mechelle Alexander  //  Children's Ministry Administrative Assistant & Sonshine School Director

Mechelle Alexander graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Office Management. She has served as the Children’s Ministry Administrative Assistant to Amy Sain for ten years, and as the director of Sonshine School since 2015. She and her husband, Danny, have two children.

Ken Carlson

Ken Carlson  //  Pastoral Care Minister

Originally from Washington, D.C., Ken and his wife Ok Kyung So have four daughters, Hannah, Grace, Faith, and Hope. After 46 years working professionally in the martial arts Industry, Ken was led by the Holy Spirit to North Boulevard to share his passion for Fervent prayer.

Shawn Frazier

Shawn Frazier  //  Worship Minister

Shawn Frazier is a grateful believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He met his wife, Katie Frazier, at Harding University where he received his Bachelor of Music Education degree. Shawn and Katie taught music at Middle Tennessee Christian School for eight years while earning Master of Arts degrees at Middle Tennessee State University. Shawn is thrilled to now work for North Boulevard while Katie teaches private oboe lessons. Their dog, Ginger Snap, enjoys outdoor and indoor sprinting.

Scott Haley  //  Church Administrator

Before coming to North Boulevard, Scott worked as an accountant in the construction industry for 24 years. Scott has also served as a deacon, treasurer, and co-minister of the youth program in churches of Christ prior to serving at North Boulevard. Scott and his wife Donna have two children, Jacob and Rachel.

Ray Holland  //  Executive Minister

Before retiring in 2012, Ray served 40 years as an executive for city governments throughout Ohio and California. When he and his wife Carol learned about North Boulevard’s 2020 Vision, they moved to Murfreesboro to be part of the great world-wide spiritual awakening.

Tony Holt

Tony Holt  //  Minister of Church Life / Celebrate Recovery Director

Tony has been married to his wife Debra for 30 years, and they have one daughter, Katlyn, 28. He has 26 years of ministry experience, and has served as Minister of Church Life with North Boulevard since July 2012. Tony graduated from Heritage Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in Bible 1985, and David Lipscomb University with a Masters in Religion 1998.

Tony is uncontrollably relational and loves people. He enjoys sports, hanging out with family and friends, and is passionate about relational discipleship.

Nathan Jernigan  //  Counseling Minister

Nathan Jernigan has served as Counseling Minister at North Boulevard for 25 years. He and his wife, Jeannie, have two children, Caleb and Michaela. He feels blessed to do a job every day that he loves and feels God has called him to do.

Nathan holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. He completed an internship with Gayle Napier, PH.D., a licensed marriage and family therapist, as well as two additional post-master’s internships. He holds two professional practice licenses from the State of Tennessee Health Related boards, is a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner and Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider, and is a National Certified Counselor.

Nathan provides a wide range of services including individual psychotherapy, counseling, premarital counseling, marital therapy, family therapy and psychological testing. Privacy and confidentiality are taken very seriously. For this reason the counseling ministry office is located off site not near any of the North Boulevard campuses.

Cody Krantz  //  Associate Youth Minister

Cody graduated from Harding University with a double major in Mathematics and Leadership in Ministry. His passion in life is helping others see the potential and value that God has already placed in their lives. He thrives working with teenagers in the nbyg as they battle daily with finding their identity. He and his wife Joelle are avid Titans and Predators fans, dog lovers, and coffee connoisseurs.

John Magnuson  //  Executive Minister

John Magnuson grew up in Murfreesboro, and has been with North Boulevard since 2007. He served as Worship Minister until 2015, when he assumed the role of Executive Minister. He is a graduate of Riverdale High School, Lipscomb University, Pepperdine University, and the Robert E. Webber Institute of Worship Studies. He and his wife April have two grown children and four beautiful grand-dog-ters.

Thad McKellar  //  Discipleship Minister

Since becoming a member at North Boulevard in 1995, Thad has enjoyed serving as a deacon and working with the children’s, youth, and other various ministries. After 30 years in the construction industry, Thad became a full-time minister at North Boulevard in 2016, heading up LIFEgroups and Dgroups.

He and his wife of over 25 years, Lori, met while attending the University of Tennessee and are avid Vol fans. They are blessed with two sons, Taylor and Heath. He is proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps and is a Dessert Storm veteran. In his spare time, Thad enjoys backpacking and a good run.

Glenn Robb  //  West Campus Minister

Glenn Robb grew up in the rural community of Greenhill, Alabama. It was near the Tennessee River where he learned to swim, ski and fish. Glenn grew up listening to preachers talk about Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead to prove he was the son of God. At age twelve Glenn made a commitment to follow Jesus and was baptized. A sense of purpose and confidence set a new direction for his life. He and his wife Nancy have served as church planting missionaries to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Atlanta, Georgia, and now Murfreesboro, Tennessee at North Boulevard’s West Campus.

Amy Sain

Amy Sain  //  Children's Minister

Amy Sain has served as North Boulevard’s Children’s Minister for 11 years. She and her husband Robert have three daughters.

Amy loves leading the children and families in the Boulevard Kids ministry. Her greatest joy is when she sees the children age through the program as they grow strong in their walk with Christ and dedicate their lives to Him through baptism. She loves meeting new families, planning great events, and writing Bible lessons.

In her spare time, she loves to spend time and play games with her family, eat at new restaurants, travel, and work on her golf game with her kids!

Jeff Shelton  //  Smyrna-LaVergne Campus Minister

Jeff graduated from Heritage Christian University before spending eighteen years in missions in the Philippines. Jeff now serves as Campus Minister at North Boulevard’s Smyrna-LaVergne campus. Jeff’s passion is studying about Jesus with individuals in their homes. He and his wife Nellie love bicycling on trails with friends and family.

Justin Sims  //  Missionary Apprentice

Justin grew up in middle Tennessee and graduated from Harding University in 2013. Since high school, he has served with various Latino ministries in the United States and worked as a paralegal for three years with EH Law Group, an immigration law firm in Memphis, Tennessee. Justin has a Master of Divinity from Harding School of Theology (May 2018). He serves as a missionary apprentice in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

David has served as the Youth Minister of North Boulevard since 2001. He and his wife Melissa are raising three teenagers of their own — Daisy, Anna Belle, and Lila Mae. David’s mission is to serve as a “sycamore tree” to the teenagers of the nbyg, lifting them above the distractions of the crowd so they might see the approaching Savior more clearly.

Paul Skidmore  //  Marketing & Creative Minister

After 20 years of freelance film, video, and design work, Paul uses the talents The Lord gave him to help North Boulevard grow disciples and plant churches. He’s inspired by the work of Viktor Schreckengost, Dieter Rams, Saul Bass, Jony Ive, and the early years of the NASA program. He only watches good movies, and some bad ones. He has two dogs — Larry and her daughter, Mathilda. He’s probably drinking coffee or at the Boulevard.

Renée Sproles  //  Director of School of Christian Thought

Renée Webb Sproles grew up in Murfreesboro, TN, graduating from Oakland High School in 1989. She and her husband, David, married in 1992 and have lived in Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, and North Carolina, returning home to Murfreesboro in the fall of 2011. Renée began homeschooling her two children, Emma and Houston, in 2005 and is passionate about helping others develop a Christian worldview. In 2014 during her 10th year of homeschooling, Renée also became the program coordinator for The School of Christian Thought. She is honored for God to use her many years of homeschooling experience as well as her degree in Public Relations from Harding University to develop the many facets of the School of Christian Thought, which now include a speaker series, accredited college coursework, a residential school of discipleship, and the discipleship tutorial.

Milton Stanley

Milton Stanley  //  Smyrna-LaVergne Associate Campus Minister

Milton Stanley is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition. Before joining the North Boulevard staff in 2015 as a Church Planter apprentice, preparing to help launch the Smyrna-LaVergne campus, he spent two years volunteering on the launch team of North Boulevard’s West campus.

He enjoys spending time reading, memorizing Scripture, and spending time with his wife Shelly and their three daughters — Evangeline, Joy, and Gloria.

Michael Strickland  //  Teaching Minister

Michael is a native Alabamian, graduate of Auburn University (BA, MEd, War Eagle!) and the University of Birmingham (PhD). He has worked in ministry in Alabama and Tennessee, and is currently Associate Dean of the Turner School of Theology at Amridge University where he teaches courses related to Theology, Christian History and Math. He and Mary have been happily married for 18 years and they have 3 children, and they all love North Boulevard. Michael is an avid alchemist and aspiring philanthropist.

Michael often teaches the East Campus Auditorium Class on Sunday mornings.

Jorge Suárez  //  Latino Minister

Jorge fue bautizado el 6 de Febreo 1978. Graduado del Instituto Baxter con un título de Bachiller en Biblia en 1984. Ha sido ministro en la Iglesia de Cristo por más de 30 años en tres diferentes paises: Honduras, Colombia y los Estados Unidos. Ahora sirve a los hermanos y hermanas hispanohablantes de North Boulevard, ministrando a la comunidad latina en todo el condado de Rutherford y más allá. Él y su esposa Luz Marina tienen un hijo y una nieta. Su mission es hacer discípulos que hagan discípulos.

Jorge was baptized on February 6, 1978. He graduated from the Baxter Institute with a Bachelor´s degree in Bible in 1984. He has been minister for over 30 years in three different countries: Honduras, Colombia, and the United States. He now serves North Boulevard’s Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters, ministering to the Latino community throughout Rutherford County and beyond. He and his wife Luz Marina have a son and a granddaughter. His mission is to make disciples who make disciples.
